New Dental Treatment Offers Relief for Tooth Sensitivity and Gum Problems in Periodontitis Patients in Sharjah
A new dental treatment is offering sustained relief for individuals experiencing tooth sensitivity and gum-related issues. The treatment was applied in the case of Mrs. Zohra, who had been dealing with ongoing sensitivity in her lower front tooth. Previous attempts to manage the condition had limited success, and the discomfort eventually interfered with her daily routine. She also reported symptoms such as bleeding gums, gum looseness and swelling, and persistent bad breath.
Following a clinical evaluation, the underlying cause was identified as mild to moderate periodontitis—a common gum condition that affects the supporting structures of the teeth and surrounding tissues.
Embracing a strategic and multi-step approach
Adopting a structured, evidence-based periodontal care approach, I developed a customized treatment plan to target the underlying causes of gum disease and tooth sensitivity. The initial phase focused on managing the progression of periodontitis. This included performing periodontal flap surgery combined with deep cleaning procedures—specifically scaling and root planing—targeting the lower left first molar. To support bone recovery and enhance periodontal stability, guided bone regeneration using bone grafting material was also applied to rebuild the lost supporting structures.
After stabilizing Mrs. Zohra’s periodontal condition and controlling the signs of gum inflammation, the next step addressed the ongoing tooth sensitivity in the lower front teeth. A soft tissue grafting procedure was selected to cover exposed root surfaces and encourage tissue regeneration. The patient responded well to the treatment, experiencing improved gum coverage, reduced dental sensitivity, and enhanced oral comfort.
Following the successful procedure, I provided comprehensive post-operative care instructions, empowering Mrs. Zohra to maintain her improved oral health diligently. With her renewed confidence and freedom from dental restraints, she now enjoys a fulfilling life unencumbered by the discomfort that once plagued her.
This remarkable dental breakthrough not only offers hope to patients suffering from severe tooth sensitivity and gum problems but also showcases the potential for advanced treatments to revolutionize oral healthcare.
