Invisalign Clear Aligners
A Crown at the Front of Your Teeth
Anterior crowns are crowns at the front of the mouth. They require special considerations in comparison to posterior (back) crowns, as esthetics and cosmetics are of the upmost importance in the front of your smile.
Natural front teeth often exhibit many different shades that vary from person to person. At Lulu Medical Center, we custom match all of our crowns to the exact shade of each tooth so that they blend in nicely with the surrounding teeth.
Anterior crowns are made from either porcelain or porcelain fused to a metal core. All-porcelain crowns are the most natural looking option because they are translucent and subtly reflect light very similarly to a natural tooth. Additionally, if the gumline were to pull away from the tooth as it sometimes can with time and aging, the edge of the all-porcelain crown will be less noticeable than it would be with a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown, or PFM, which can show a small black line where the porcelain meets the metal portion.
Dental bonding is a procedure in which tooth-colored resin material is applied and hardened to the tooth surface.
Dental bonding can be used for the following:
- Repair decayed tooth structure
- Repair chipped or cracked teeth
- Improve appearance of discolored teeth
- Close spaces between teeth
- Protect a portion of the tooth’s root that has been exposed when the gum recedes
Teeth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy, unrestored teeth (no fillings) and gums. Individuals with yellow-toned teeth respond best.
Tray-based teeth whitening systems involve filling a mouthguard-like tray with a gel whitening solution. The whitening solution contains a peroxide bleaching agent. Patients wear the tray for a couple hours per day or while they sleep for up to four weeks.
Having a confident smile can change everything — and Invisalign makes the decision easy because you can get a stunning smile without most people even noticing you’re going through treatment.
Invisalign is the clear way to straighten your teeth as there are no wires or brackets, just a series of transparent aligners that are virtually invisible to those around you. The aligners work by incrementally moving your teeth, and each set is typically worn for two weeks at a time. Your doctor will track your progress every four to six weeks.
